What is breathwork?

A question that is can be nice to ask before you throw yourself into it. Breathwork can be so many things, but in this setting it is an active breathing technique (conscious circular breathing) which helps to lower the activity in the prefrontal cortex and gives an opportunity to dive into the subconscious. If you go in with the idea that breathwork is like meditation, I have yet to meet someone who has not been surprised by the experience of their first breathwork session. Breathwork is practiced lying down to music and with the help of guidance from a facilitator, who helps to create space for safety, new perspectives, creativity, inner peace, compassion for oneself and others around one. A session lasts in total for about 2 hours, including an intention meditation, breathing session, self-reflection and sharing circle after the breathing.


Why breathwork with Tuva?


Through breathwork and constantly moving into the unknown and uncomfortable, I have experienced the opportunity we humans have to develop and unlearn the things that do not benefit us on the way through life. This is part of what I want to help spread to more people, through a more conscious relationship with our own breathing.

With experience as a participant, group facilitator and Head of HR in the leadership program Future Leaders, I have seen the importance of taking the inner sustainability seriously in ambitious individuals and companies in working life, in order to best be able to create good results and strong individuals.

It might sound cliche, but I love the diversity of what it means to be human. Everything we carry with us from stories, untouched creativity and everything that can be brought to life in a human being.

For me, safety is also an important aspect, and I want people to follow the journey with their breathing at their own pace. This means that I, as a breathwork facilitator, am a guide, where the individual always decides to what extent they want to delve into the potential of the breath through a session.
