Did you know that new research shows that 90% of illnesses are stress-related? And that breathing has the power to decrease stress in the body & mind?
Or that breathing with your mouth open is worse for your teeth than sugar?
In the United States, companies lose over $300 billion to employee work-related stress. Fortunately, the statistics are not as gloomy in Norway, but stress is still one of the biggest challenges for health and safety in the workplace. At the same time that we now also have several socially relevant stressors such as war on the continent, increased uncertainty in the economy and climate change.
What can you do to feel better at work & in your daily life?
It may seem that this is the time to take breathing more seriously. Through this 2.5 hour workshop, I take the employees through awareness of their own breathing, information about the function of breathing and integration of various techniques.

Welcome and mapping of the participants' relationship with their breath - 15 min

The lecture contains information about what actually happens in the body when we breathe. What is it that makes the difference whether we breathe with our mouth or nose. How breathing with the upper part of the chest is connected to stress and the sympathetic nervous system, and how the breath affects us in the long term. Then moving into how to breathe in order to feel the best possible, physically, mentally and emotionally. I present the breath as a spectrum, starting with the breath in everyday life to deeper emotional work, to show the diverse role our breath plays in our lives.
The session ends with diving into different breathing techniques & strengthening the participants relationship to their conscious breath.
Breathing techniques that can be used at the desk at work, when walking or sitting in the car on the way home, are some of the practices that will be introduced. Exercises that can make stressful situations more manageable and help create more presence, increase energy levels and patience during the day.
